Do you sell patterns for your designs?

No! All our dresses are made-to-measure and therefore each pattern is unique to the client.

Do you sell the embroidery separately?

No! The embroidery is created for the shape of a dress and therefore would be very difficult to fit on another dress. Also, embroidery is very time consuming and would be very expensive.

Do you sell dresses for bridesmaids and flower girls?

At this point in time, no! We are extremely busy with bridal gowns and would prefer to concentrate on our existing clients. However, we may develop this side of the business in the future.

I live in *******. Can you make me a wedding dress?

Most probably, yes! We have sold to clients in every continent and could also help with your wedding gown.

Do you have a brochure?

We are currently creating a CD brochure, but this is still in development. Please monitor the web site for any change in our position.

Can you explain the difference between 'made-to-measure' and 'mail-order'?

Many of our clients choose to visit us at our studio for all their fittings, while others, possibly due to distance, find this difficult or impossible. For those clients we offer our mail-order service. Dresses are still made-to-measure, however we will probably never meet face to face. Please read the information on 'Using our Mail Order Service' for a full explanation.

What is a toile?

A toile, or mock-up, is a copy of the dress in a cheap fabric. We do this in order to ensure that the finished article is made to the correct specifications.

Which measurements do you require?

Please go to 'My Measurements' to find details.

How long in advance do I need to start to discuss my wedding dress with you before my wedding?

Remember, your wedding dress will be made from scratch. We therefore prefer a minimum of six months to make a dress. The time scale may on occasions be shorter, therefore it is always best to contact us for an up to date position.

If I contact you six months before our wedding, can you guarantee that I will be able to have a dress made on time?

Unfortunately no! We can only make a finite number of dresses each year and often we are fully booked well in advance. It is best that you call early so as not to be disappointed.

Can I visit your studio without an appointment?

We prefer our clients to arrange an appointment in advance so as not to disappointed. Our studio is in a small village and is a reasonable distance from large populations. You may also arrive only to find the studio closed. To make an appointment please go to 'Contact Lindsay Fleming'.

Are appointments restricted to certain days?

No! We are fairly flexible on day and time, although we do try to keep Sunday and Monday free.

How far are you from the nearest airport if I decided to fly to Scotland?

Budget airlines fly into Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick airports. Each is between 50 minutes and 75 minutes drive from our studio. Unfortunately there are no direct links by bus or train, therefore it is best to hire a car. For further details, have a look at our page titled, 'Getting to Lindsay Fleming'.

I live in *******. Can you tell me what is included in the cost?

Please read the information on 'Using our Mail Order Service' for a full explanation of what is and what is not included.

Why is 'mail order' cheaper than 'made-to-measure'?

Clients who choose 'made-to-measure' will visit us for their final fitting. At this time the dress will have any final minor adjustments to make sure that it is the perfect fit. On the other hand, 'mail order' clients will not be able to visit for this service. Any minor adjustments must be made by a local seamstress of your choice and therefore will incur a cost. The difference in prices is to cover this cost.

Can the price of the dress be reduced, for example, by using cheaper fabrics?

Unfortunately the fabric costs on most dresses is not a large percentage of the total cost, and choosing a cheaper fabric will make little difference to the cost of the dress. We have chosen these fabrics because of their quality and suitability to the design. Choosing a cheaper fabric will almost certainly have a detrimental effect on the final product.

Is delivery included in the price?

Yes! If you choose mail order, the price you will be quoted will include delivery to your stated address and will include insurance.

Which agent will you use for delivery?

This very much depends on which country we are delivering to. Whichever agent is used, we will be able to track the package until it reaches it's final destination.
