Since it was painted in 1901, Edmund Blair Leighton's "The Accolade" has been admired by generations, both for it's nostalgic look at a long forgotten age of chivalry, and for the stunning medieval costume worn by the mysterious maiden captured in the art of knighting the kneeling warrior.
Exactly one hundred years later, Lindsay Fleming recreated this stunning gown for clients who wish the ultimate dress for their celtic/medieval wedding.
Janel is lavishly embroidered around the hem, waist, cuffs, arm and neck line, and beautifully decorated with crystals. The fabric is a wonderful ivory silk damask which allows the dress to show off the intricate embroidery to it's best advantage. An inner tightly fitting sleeve is made from a satin silk/lycra mix, while the outer sleeve has a satin lining. The remainder of the gown has a silk haboti lining.
As with all Lindsay Fleming designs, Janel can be changed to suit your own taste. For example many clients have preferred to have their dress made with silver or coloured embroidery. To discuss this and other options available contact a designer.
